Rita Week 4

Here's my homework for week 4. I enjoyed this week's homework, but I feel like I tend to lose the structure of my drawing as I render and sometimes I'm not sure how to bring it back. Maybe I'm not focusing enough on my set up?

Thanks for this awesome class Bryan, i've learned a ton!

Jenny Tan Week 04

Hey Team!

Some Questions for Bryan (sorry if it's too many, you can skip them or answer them in text)

- I had trouble getting clean gradients and had to resort to airbrush tool how do you get such clean gradients?
- When I did things like wrinkles or smile lines they would look very obvious and cut out, how do you do them so subtly
- Do you have any tips going from digital to pencil. I find whenever I draw traditionally I can never get the same range of values and it looks terrible.
- Any tips for drawing heads from imagination for creative work.

Here's my attempts

Thanks Bryan! Appreciate everything.

Week 4- Chris

- I gave up on render #2 because I botched the basic structure and tilt of the head
-There was a third head I just threw away without saving because it was going badly - difficulty with ambient lighting

Rita Homework 3

I enjoyed this week's homework. The biggest challenge for me was definitely capturing likeness.

Chris Chang - Week 3

-wasted a lot of time fudging around with the eyes, and also having a hard time getting accurate details while drawing small.

Jenny Tan Week 03

Hi Team!

I'm currently in Japan with limited access to the net, so I haven't been able to download the last video or access skype so apologies if this isn't right. I only managed time for 2 heads and tried to focus more on shadow shape designs. Struggled with Audrey. Will hopefully be more focused next week when I'm back home.

Thanks in advance!

Rita Week 2

I was unable to finish all of my drawings, which is probably because I went a bit too slow on each head. I definitely struggled with getting a good likeness without taking forever on each drawing. Also, I struggled a bit with value and deciding which shapes were dark enough for me to include.

On the drawing of Muhammad Ali I struggled specifically with giving him the impression of having round cheeks without making him look chubby.

Week 2 Chris Chang

-Running into trouble determining head tilt and the perspective of the head

Chris Chang - Week 1

Jenny Tan Week 01

Hey Guys!

Sorry it's a bit rough
I do have 2 questions

1) When I use the 1 circle width each side for the rib cage it always feels really big to me and I end up eyeballing it, is there another way or am I just doing it terribly wrong?
2) Is it always the back circle mass of the skull that we measure to get the clavicle (where we drop one circle down) and how does perspective affect this?

Thanks! I forgot to do the back view, but if I get a bit of time today will quickly do them.
edit: added back views

Rita Homework week 1

My main questions from doing this homework are:

1.) Where do you draw the neck in from the front view?
2.) Are the nose and mouth on the bottom two 1/3 lines of the lower radius of the face?
3.) What are the proportions of how the chest tapers?

Jiun Wee Week 01

Hello Bryan,

I struggled a lot with the Front View looking down. I am not sure if it looks correct here (?)
Also, I am not sure if I will be able to attend class this week but I'll make it if I can.

Looking forward to your feedback!
